The 7-day Rongai Route is the only trail that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, near the Kenyan border. This route is known for its remote and less crowded trails, offering a unique perspective of the mountain. It features a gradual ascent, allowing for better acclimatization and increasing summit success rates. The trail passes through diverse landscapes, from lush forests to alpine deserts, culminating at Uhuru Peak. The descent follows the Marangu Route, providing a different scenery on the way down.
