The 7-day Machame Route, also known as the “Whiskey Route,” is one of the most scenic and popular trails to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. It offers breathtaking views, diverse landscapes, and excellent acclimatization opportunities. This route allows trekkers to gradually adapt to the altitude, increasing the chances of a successful summit. The journey begins in a lush rainforest, ascends through moorlands, alpine desert, and finally to the icy summit of Uhuru Peak (5,895m). The descent follows the Mweka Route, providing a different perspective of the mountain. This itinerary ensures a well-paced climb, allowing time for acclimatization while maximizing the experience of Kilimanjaro’s natural beauty.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Here, you will meet your guide for a briefing on the trek, gear check, and final preparations. Enjoy dinner and rest before the adventure begins.
